Sour Bridges - "Shelf Life" | a Do512 Lounge Session

Hometown: Austin, TX
Genres: Americana / Bluegrass / Browngrass- It's like Bluegrass, just a lil dirtie
Members: Bill Pucci, Matt Pucci, Kat Wilkes, Dalton Chamblee, Jack Bridges

Sour Bridges play browngrass music; it’s like bluegrass, just a little dirtier. With rock n’ roll inspiration, a steady drum beat and some good old-fashioned doo-wop sensibility, Sour Bridges have a sound that is all their own. Formed in 2009 in Austin, Texas the five members of Sour Bridges bring a wide variety of character and instrumentation to the table. Their music is homegrown and simple. The group succeeds in bringing together a fresh blend of fiddle, banjo, mandolin and acoustic guitar. This organic arrangement is complimented with undeniably tight vocal harmonies that highlight the bands’ dynamic range.

Sour Bridges’ first album Workin’ on Leavin’ was released in 2010. Following the album with three years of playing in some of Austin’s finest venues, Sour Bridges solidified their “Browngrass” sound and released their sophomore full length album Catfish Charlie in August 2013. The album is currently swimming along Texas airwaves, including NPR affiliate, KUTX. The band has also made appearances at UTOPiAfest, CMJ Music Marathon, SXSW and Day Trotter.

Sour Bridges’ live show is a hot dang hootenanny of a good time! When you come out to see them play, don’t forget to bring your boots and remember… a little crowd vocal and foot-stomp is always encouraged.

Sour Bridges are: Bill Pucci (vocals, banjo, rhythm guitar), Matt Pucci (vocals, mandolin, lead guitar), Kat “Mama Kat” Wilkes (fiddle, tambourine),
Dalton Chamblee (drums), Jack Bridges (vocals, bass).
